Our story
From dream to reality.
Carina Jakobsson founded the company in Shanghai, drawing on a lifetime in sport and the competitive drive that made her a champion in both martial arts and running. She stepped into the garment industry with the same focus she brought to training, and in 2004 THRONE took shape.
The operation moved to Nanjing, China, in 2006, with the head office established in Gothenburg, Sweden. From the start we have focused on premium sport fashion and performance sportswear, and our products have since reached more than 60 countries around the world.
The company’s strength comes from a skilled and committed team. As we grow, so does our capability. Curiosity drives the way we work, and constant development keeps us moving forward. Innovation isn’t a claim for us - it’s the daily reality of how we build.

Based in Sweden, manufacturing in our own factories in China.
Our Swedish head office is a place to meet, develop ideas, and explore styles and materials in our showroom. Being closer in time zone also reduces travel time for our European customers.
In China, our local team sits at the center of our technology and product development. This is where ideas take shape, sourcing aligns, and production moves forward without friction.

Our R&D team knows the importance of product research and development. We are always in search of the latest fabrics, newest trends and latest technologies.
Design
Our team studies global markets to spot real shifts in performance trends and translate them into products that fit your brand. We work with the full layering system (base, mid, insulation, shell) and understand how each piece handles moisture, heat, and protection. We also know the small but critical choices: when insulation needs to breathe under a membrane, where seam tape belongs, and where it only adds bulk. It’s technical precision applied with purpose.
Quality
Our lab tests every sample to make sure the materials and construction meet all required standards. Independent verification is part of the process, with recognised third-party labs like SGS and ITS used whenever needed. The result is simple, you get products that hold up to inspection, not just on paper but in real performance.
Development support
Our after-sales team is here to support you with clear answers and fast solutions. If questions come up or something unexpected happens, we help you sort it out. You get smooth communication and reliable support long after production is done.
Innovation
Sometimes a design asks for something the current tech can’t deliver. When it does, we dig in and build the solution. One project pushed us to create a seamless style with six colours in an asymmetric pattern while keeping the inside perfectly clean for comfort and durability. It wasn’t simple, but the result proved that difficult briefs are where we do our best work.
